Waltham St Lawrence and Shurlock Row Parish Website

This Society, formed in 1970, exists for the purpose of maintaining the rural character of the Parish of Waltham St. Lawrence with Shurlock Row and protecting it from constant threats of unwanted local development.

The Society’s formal objections and representations at Public Inquiries, on behalf of its Members, have undoubtedly helped to ensure the continuity of our rural environment. If you value these achievements, we hope you will consider the Society worthy of your support.

The Society has a fighting fund which has been built up over many years from subscriptions and donations. When mounting campaigns, the legal costs soon mount up. The maintenance of this fighting fund means that we are always ready to respond quickly to any new threat. By joining the Society you can make sure your voice is heard on any particular issue about which you feel strongly. If you would like to join us, you can fill in the application form and return it to Colin Dean, Mortimer House, The Street, Shurlock Row, RG10 0PR or contact Lisa Grandin at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for an electronic copy.

Should you wish to join the Society, your subscription will help to support its running costs and maintain the fighting fund. The annual subscription is only £5 per household, but you can of course give more if you wish. As a registered charity the Preservation Society is also able to benefit under Gift Aid by obtaining a tax refund from the Inland Revenue.
